Multiplex measurement (simultaneous measurement of multiple biomolecules)

Study Overview

Using suspension bead array technology, we can simultaneously quantify and detect multiple cytokines and biomarkers (up to 100 types) from small samples. Measurements can be performed using a variety of samples, including serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, culture supernatant, and cell extracts.

Multiplex measurements are particularly effective for analyzing secreted factors such as cytokines (immune and inflammatory responses), adipokines, and myokines. We can also perform end-to-end study, from culturing various immune cells such as human PBMCs and macrophage cell lines, to treating test substances and analyzing cytokines using multiplex measurements.

Equipment used

Bio-Plex 200 (Bio-Rad)

Features

When quantifying proteins using ELISA, only one ELISA assay can be performed per biological factor. This means that to measure 100 biological factors, 100 ELISA assays are required, and 100 ELISA kits are also required.

However, with multiplex analysis, up to 100 biological factors can be measured in a single test using a small amount of sample.
