Liver function improvement study

Study Overview

The liver’s cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes detoxify many drugs by converting them into water-soluble forms for excretion in urine. Some substances influence the activity of CYP enzymes, promoting or inhibiting its function and influencing the pharmacokinetics of drugs. CYP-inhibiting substance can adversely affect the activity of drugs, while CYP-promoting substances can improve liver function and detoxification.

This assay aims to understand that effects of test substances on CYP gene expression and CYP activation. The goal is to understand how and whether substances are able to influence CYP activity using hepatocytes and gene expression analysis.
