Study Overview
In the bone marrow, hematopoietic stem cells undergo differentiation to become mature cells like neutrophils (haematopoiesis), a process driven by specific signaling molecules known as cytokines. This transition is a critical component of hematopoiesis, ensuring the immune system has a constant supply of white blood cells to combat infections and maintain homeostasis. In this assay, we apply various staining methods that target each blood type in order to determine if a test substance is able to promote hematopoiesis.
