ChIP-seq

Study Overview

ChIP-seq is a method used to study how proteins interact with DNA. It combines a technique called ChIP (Chromatin Immunoprecipitation) with DNA sequencing technology. This method helps researchers determine where proteins, such as gene control proteins and DNA-related proteins, bind to the DNA inside cells. First, antibodies are incubated with the target proteins which are already bound to the DNA, causing them to precipitate. The DNA in the precipitate can then be washed, purified and analysed using sequencing to identify the region of interest.

ChIP-seq is often used to study gene control and changes in DNA activity. However, this experiment is complicated, involving multiple steps which need to be performed under stringent conditions otherwise the results may not be reproducible. In order to obtain robust and reliable data, we perform quality checks at different steps such as the DNA fragmentation, protein collection and DNA enrichment steps, before performing sequence. This guarantees that your data is of high quality.

We can also provide data analysis and interpretation support for the DNA sequencing data. In addition, we can provide assistance with experimental planning and custom analyses based on your research needs. This can include combined analysis with existing ChIP-seq and RNA-seq data.
