Lipolysis promotion study (anti-obesity effect)

Study Overview

Neutral fats stored in fat cells are broken down into fatty acids and glycerol, which are consumed as energy.
This study aims to identify functional substances with potential weight loss effects and will verify the test substance’s ability to promote lipolysis. The test substance will be treated in adipocytes after differentiation induction, and the amount of glycerol produced by the breakdown of neutral fats will be measured to evaluate the test substance’s ability to promote lipolysis.

Study example

Basic Experimental design

Cells usedMouse adipocytes (3T3-L1)
Human preadipocytes (subcutaneous and visceral)
Culture periodSamples were treated for 24 hours on adipocytes on day 11 of differentiation induction.
Positive controlIsoproterenol
Measurement methodFree glycerol measurement

*Studies will be mainly conducted by those with doctoral degrees.
