Fibroblast activation study
(evaluation of collagen and hyaluronic acid production promotion)

Study Overview

In the dermis, fibroblasts produce type I collagen for skin elasticity and hyaluronic acid for moisture. Maintaining fibroblast function is essential for skin health and beauty, as its decline causes wrinkles and sagging.

This study evaluates whether a test substance is able to activate fibroblasts, leading to the production of type I collagen and hyaluronic acid. The gol of this study is to determine if the test substance could be used as functional ingredient in cosmetic products to enhance firmness and moisture in the skin. The measurement of collagen type I is performed using our proprietary ELISA kit developed at ACEL. Click here for more information on the kit.

Study example

Compound C was determined to increase collagen production in this study.
